Dolly Parton says her new album, ‘Blue Smoke’, which will be released in conjunction with her world tour, is a reflection of her many musical sides.
“We’re kicking off our Blue Smoke World Tour right here at home. I love traveling all over the world; but it’s true, there’s nothing like home,” Parton said.
“Country music is really the white man’s rhythm and blues. It’s where all the pain is. Once you get to country you can’t go back because there’s no other music that’s that honest.”

“When we did ‘Islands in the Stream’ we connected musically, when we did ‘You Can’t Make Old Friends’ we connected personally,” Rogers said. “For me, it’s not important that it’s a hit song, but it’s important historically to have it on tape.”
The Rogers/Parton duet “You Can’t Make Old Friends” is the lead single from the Country Music Hall of Fame member’s upcoming album of the same name, due October 8.
