Utility crews are doing what they can to prepare for two strong storms moving into Western Washington. The crews are ready to work overtime, if needed, to restore power. And residents across the region are preparing for the worst, too. Much of Snohomish and Whatcom counties are under a flood watch, and parts of Snohomis, Whatcom and Skagit counties are under a high wind warning.
The heaviest rain today will start at about 4 p.m., and it is likely to bring standing water on the roads. The wind gusts on the coast could be over 60 mph. Friday will have gusty winds and isolated storms with some hail possible, but the second storm Saturday could have the potential to be “historical”. Residents should prepare for an intense windstorm with gusts that could reach 75 mph and the possibility of widespread wind damage and significant power outages. (KING 5)
