After weeks of speculation, Lady Gaga confirmed Thursday that she will be headlining the Super Bowl 51 halftime show on February 5th, 2017 at NRG Stadium in Houston. Gaga was first rumored to be in the running for the gig in mid-September, when articles cited her well-received performance of the National Anthem at the 2016 Super Bowl as the primary reason fueling the NFL’s decision to book her. Jason Aldean is being honored by the Susan G. Komen Foundation as a “More Than Pink” Hero. The “More Than Pink” campaign officially kicks off in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The campaign aims to reduce the number of breast cancer deaths by 50-percent over the next decade. As part of the initiative, the group has created a list of everyday heroes who have made significant contributions to the fight against breast cancer. (Taste Of Country)


Heads up, Seattle sports fans: Prepare for gridlock off the gridiron. An extra 100,000 people are expected at two Seattle sports events Friday night.At 6 pm Friday, the 10th ranked Huskies take on No. 7 Stanford. The stadium holds more than 70,000 people, so transportation planners are advising fans to take Link Light Rail to avoid traffic. Adding to the Friday frenzy will be roughly 30,000 Mariners fans as the team continues thier fight to play into the fall, with the game versus Oakland starting at 7:10 pm. (KOMO News)
