Seth and Kat’s 4 Things You Need To Know-September 23rd

Steve Clevenger, backup catcher for the Seattle Mariners, is under fire after he tweeted out racially charged remarks. In one tweet, he called Black Lives Matter and President Obama “pathetic” and expressed his view that they and various protesters should be “locked behind bars like animals.” In a separate tweet, he wrote, “Black people beating whites when a thug got shot holding a gun by a black officer haha s**t cracks me up! Keep kneeling for the Anthem!”

Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto quickly condemned Clevenger’s tweets, and Clevenger later issued an apology, saying in part, “I would like to apologize to the Seattle Mariners, my teammates, my family and the fans of our great game for the distraction my tweets on my personal Twitter page caused when they went public earlier today.”

Note to college students (21+ over): don’t drink & attempt a term papers at the same time. Late last week on Twitter, UK college student McKenna Clark shared a term paper she wrote, along with the warning, “Don’t write papers hammered and then turn them in like me.” Clark’s tweet has since gone viral; here’s her piss-drunk prose, in its entirety:

“Illegal to kiss on a train (mala prohibita) talk about weather it should be illegal or not. It should be legal to kiss on the train because it is romantic. Professor Grams, my name is McKenna. I had some Dr. Pepper’s I am doing good. Your assignment is way too hard. I can’t do it right now. I am better now, however, because the Dr. Pepper’s wore off. I am not contemplating the assignemtn (sic) that you gave me. It’s illegal to kiss on the train because it is a safety violation. If you are kissing while on the train you must realize that it could end up being dangerous. If the driver was kissing on the train, who would be driving the train. You are welcome. Love You.”
