Cole Swindell may have been surrounded by lovely ladies at the 2017 Miss America competition this weekend, but one in particular stole is heart.
And she wasn’t even a contestant.
While Swindell was in Atlantic City, N.J. to judge the competition, he met 9-year-old Angelica Hale on the red carpet who wanted to show off her singing talent according to Taste Of Country.
Angelica knew exactly what to sing too: Swindell’s song, “Middle of a Memory”.
“That’s my new one! You know that one?” he said, fully surprised.
She did, and as she sang the chorus word for word, Swindell danced along and even joined in at the end.
“This is a great memory! Thank you so much. This made my whole night,” he told her after a big hug. “You’re my Miss America.”
Angelica is a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Miracle child, and she went on to sing the National Anthem to kickoff Day 2 of the Miss America pageant preliminaries, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
