Drake White isn’t just sitting back to celebrate his hit single, “Livin’ the Dream” and the release of his new album Spark.
White decided to also “give the dream” by traveling across the country this week to give back with multiple charities.
According to PEOPLE, he visited five cities across the country in 17 hours, logging over 3,000 miles and spending over nine hours on an airplane.
Here is a quick recap:
1. Friends of Firefighters – New York City
On the first stop of White’s cross-country “Flight to Light the Spark” campaign, he teamed up with the Friends of Firefighters and Squad 288/Hazmat 1 in Queens, New York. White started the day by bringing breakfast to the firehouse and meeting with firefighters. He wrapped up the visit with an acoustic two-song performance for the entire firehouse.
2. North Texas Food Bank (in partnership with Ford Community Fund) – Dallas, Texas
The second stop had White partnering with the Ford Community Fund and at the North Texas Food Bank, where he sorted food, stocked shelves and loaded carts for customers.
Always a moving experience to visit a community food bank. If you have been following us lately you know we have been to a few now. Such great people doing amazing things. Happy to be here at the #northtexasfoodbank today as a part of #livingthedream by #givingthedream if you go to buy a copy of my new album spark today we are giving a portion of the proceeds to all these great organizations we are visiting https://itun.es/us/LVIfdb North Texas Food Bank
3. The Boys & Girls Club of South Central Kansas – Wichita, Kansas
White stopped at The Boys and Girls Club to chat with the young members about reaching their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Drake also played three songs and performed some science experiments with the kids.
The Boys and Girls clubs of America enable young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. They provide A safe place to learn and grow. It's always been important to me to empower and inspire kids. To get involved with anything they are passionate about and follow their own dreams and work hard to achieve their goals. It's what lead me to music. Help all these causes we are showing you guys at www.drakewhite.com buy a cd and we will $5 to any of of them you choose! #livinthedream by #givingthedream Learn more at www.begreatwichita.org @102.1thebull
4. Musicians on Call at the Denver VA Medical Center – Denver, Colorado
White partnered with Musicians on Call to stop by the Denver VA Medical Center, where he visited patient rooms and played a few songs for the patients.
Music is physiologically proven to lift people spirits. This stop is about helping to create awareness for @musiciansoncall and it's goals to bring live music to the bedsides of patients in facilities ranging from children, adults, VA hospitals, hospice care and more. @musiciansoncall #mocmoments #denver www.drakewhite.com | https://itun.es/us/LVIfdb
5. Western Surfing Association (in partnership with Salt Life) – Los Angeles
For the fifth and final stop in White’s whirlwind day, he partnered with Salt Life and the Western Surfing Association (WSA) for a Marine Conservation event at Oceanside beach to surf and clean up the beach area. He wrapped up the day with a few acoustic songs around the campfire.
Can't think of a better way to bring this day of #GivingTheDream to a close: On the beach with our toes in the sand, the Pacific Ocean with my friends from the @realsaltlife with a big Ol' beach fire. @surfwsa is such a great organization who is committed to keeping our beaches free of litter and the seas clean for future generations. #surf #livinthedream by #givingthedream #oceanside #california #thebigfire #conservation #eastcoast to the #westcoast #thankyou #everybodysaidwewouldntmakeitbaby
