Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the highest paid actor according to Forbes. The former pro wrestler earned an estimated 64-million-dollars in 2016 to knock “Iron Man” Robert Downey Jr. from the top spot. Jackie Chan and Matt Damon round out the top three. By comparison, “Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence as the world’s highest-paid actress after she earned about 46-million-dollars in 2016. The results definitely highlight the Hollywood gender pay gap.
KFC describes its closely guarded original fried chicken recipe as “one of the biggest trade secrets in the world.” The company says the original handwritten recipe is housed in a 770-pound safe encased in two feet of concrete and guarded by video cameras and motion detectors. Despite all that, the recipe for the spice blend used to prepare the chicken may have been accidentally revealed by the nephew of the man who made the recipe famous. The Chicago Tribune printed an article, along with what might be the recipe, last week. KFC told the “New York Times” the recipe in the scrapbook is no more accurate than other claims made over the years.
Here is the recipe that the colonel’s nephew showed The Chicago Tribune:
11 spices — mix with 2 cups white flour
2/3 tablespoon salt
1/2 tablespoon thyme
1/2 tablespoon basil
1/3 tablespoon oregano
1 tablespoon celery salt
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon dried mustard
4 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons garlic salt
1 tablespoon ground ginger
3 tablespoons white pepper

Case in point: Yesterday, two Orlando area hospitals announced that they will not bill victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting for medical costs associated with their injuries or in their recovery. Together both hospitals treated 56 people injured when gunman Omar Mateen opened fire in the night club, killing 49, and about $5.5 million in medical fees will be waived.
