‘Nashville’ Premiere Date Changes And Shocking Cast News

If you had your calendar set for December to see the return of “Nashville”, think again.

Despite Charles Esten announcing at the Grand Ole Opry on August 12th that the season 5 premiere would take place in December, CMT has officially revealed the new season kick off with a 2-hour episode on January 5th at 9 p.m. Eastern.

“Nashville” will air every Thursday on CMT.  Fans will also be able to stream the show the following day on Hulu.

However fans might not be excited to know that Rayna Jaymes is likely to take her final curtain call in season 5.

Connie Britton has only signed on for about 10 episodes of the new season, which is set for 22 episodes, and she could be looking to exit the show.

Entertainment Weekly reports the show producers still remain hopeful they’ll get her on board for more and that her deal is not yet final.

Meanwhile, co-star Hayden Panettiere is fully on board.
