Ryan Lochte was no match for Michael Phelps in the final of the 200-meter individual medley in Rio. Phelps blew away the field to become a four-time gold medalist in the event. Which means Phelps broke that 2,168-year Olympic record by winning his 13th individual gold medal. Meanwhile, Ryan Lochte said that if Phelps wasn’t around, HE’D be, “the Michael Phelps of swimming.” (Just watch below to see how fellow swimmers react when Phelps walks into a room…)
Simone Biles also took home one of the most coveted medals of the Summer Games yesterday. Biles won the gold in the women’s gymnastics all-around final. American women have won the all-around title in four consecutive Olympic Games. The U.S. continues to stand atop the medal count standings. The Americans have won 38 medals through six days of competition, with 16 gold medals.
