The Band Perry Take In Olympics, Perform Live From Rio on ‘Today’

The Band Perry’s Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry are in Rio for this year’s Olympics. The family trio took in some of the events, including women’s gymnastics and some of the swimming competitions on Tuesday night (August 9th), cheering on Michael Phelps to his 20th gold medal.

The Band Perry’s “Live Forever” is the official theme of Team USA, which the trio will perform live from Rio on NBC’s Today show this morning (Thursday, August 11th).

Reid and Kimberly Perry said, “The Team USA chose ‘Live Forever’ as their anthem, their theme song. So, we’re hoping basically they’re listening to our voices right before they either go and shoot like the bows and arrows, before they do the power walking, before they do.

(Kimberly) “I’m pretty sure that Michael Phelps is going to be listening to Jay-Z, but I want to pretend that he is listening to ‘Live Forever’ on those headphones.”

Last night (Wednesday, August 10th),the band performed at the Team USA House on Ipanema Beach.

The Band Perry also just released their brand new single, “Comeback Kid.”
