Football fans are getting a glimpse of Carrie Underwood‘s new “Sunday Night Football” opening theme.
NBC has released a 15-second preview that’s been airing during the Olympics.
The teaser features iconic images from the NFL, including the lights, the field and a giant American flag unfurling.
The images are interspersed with shots of Underwood singing “Oh, Sunday Night” while standing a spotlight.
The country superstar has been performing the Sunday Night Football theme for the past few years, taking over for Faith Hill beginning in 2013. This year they decided to do something a little different, cutting a new song entirely according to Taste Of Country.
A press release described the new opening song as a “mix of country, rock, and pop.”
“I love being part of the Sunday Night Football family and can’t wait for the fans to hear the new theme song,” says Underwood.
“Oh, Sunday Night” is set to the music of “Somethin’ Bad,” Underwood’s hit duet with Miranda Lambert.
“Sunday Night Football” begins on September 11th with the Patriots taking on the Cardinals.
