The U.S. enters Day Three of competition alone atop the medal count standings in the Rio Olympics. The Americans have collected 12 total medals thus far in Rio. Team USA has taken home three gold medals, five silvers and four bronze. A pair of American swimming stars are adding to their medal collection. Michael Phelps captured his 19th career gold medal as part of the four-by-100-meter freestyle relay team which was anchored by Bremerton’s Nathan Adrian. Katie Ledecky broke her own world record in the 400-meter freestyle.
The Olympics had just gotten started on Saturday when its first viral video was born. French gymnast Samir Ait Said broke his leg on a vault during the preliminaries, and it’s hard to watch. What could be worse than that? How about the paramedics dropping the stretcher? Yeah, it happened. But Said’s tough. He’s already promising to be ready for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

This year’s wave of Pumpkin Spice products has already started. General Mills is releasing a new flavor for Cheerios. In the next few weeks, the company will start stocking store shelves with boxes of pumpkin spice cereal which is made with pumpkin puree, and will be available in grocery stores through December.
