The Band Perry have released their first single in over a year today (Aug. 1), after days of teasing their comeback. The song, fittingly titled “Comeback Kid,” is a slow ballad that features Kimberly Perry on lead vocals singing about the worst year she’s ever had and how she refuses to give up.

“They like to kick you when you’re down / They like it better when you’re there on the ground / And up ’til now, I’ve never made a sound / I bet they’ve never had a broken heart / But they sure know how to beat the hell out of one,” she sings at the song’s start.

In celebration of what the band has called Comeback Day, the sibling trio are hosting a 24-hour Facebook livestream. Fans can stream the band’s release day getting ready for radio interviews, answering questions from fans and much more. Watch it all unfold live below.
The group also kicked off a million-dollar fundraising campaign in partnership with Teen Cancer America and Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Monroe Carrell Jr. Children’s Hospital with the goal of expanding the Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer program in Nashville.
