When you go for dinner at Mary White’s house you know that you’re going to be fed well. Her and her long time partner Tony don’t make a fuss about it, but the food is down right delicious.
First I have to ask if you remember Mary White? She worked with Ichabod at KMPS for many years in the mornings. I also worked with her when I first moved to Seattle. From the moment I met Mary, we became instant friends. And she’s had me laughing ever since.
A woman of many talents, Mary White, loves to cook and entertain. She’s been saying she would invite my husband John and I over for dinner for way too long. Finally our invitation arrived!
I had my camera out like a fool snapping everything in sight. I’m such a huge fan of this person, and it was great to see her partner Tony. Together, they are a hoot!
I couldn’t help but take a few selfies with Mary!
Mary teased us that they were gonna serve crackers and beer. This was very low key. It was definitely laid back in their beautiful cliff side secluded West Seattle home. There’s nothing pretentious about Mary White. Their front door was left wide open as we arrived. Mary wasn’t wearing any shoes. It’s like we were back in the south and one of our family members had invited us over.
Tony and Mary were so cute helping each other in the kitchen!
First they put out an appetizer of Garlic Butter Shrimp with fennel, tarragon, and fresh parsley. I was too busy noshing to remember to take a photo. 😦 But trust me, these shrimp were cooked perfectly. One of the reasons I don’t like shrimp is they are too often over cooked.
Then for dinner they made Alaskan salmon and an Ina Garten’s Crunchy Noodle Salad recipe. I’m soooo making this dish! It’s yum-o-matic!
Simple, elegant, delicious! Thanks Mary & Tony!
After dinner Mary snuck off to the kitchen to make a homemade vanilla whip cream that she served on top of a fresh Blueberry Crumble! Did I mention we were in heaven?
After dessert it was time for lots of laughs and catching up on the porch.
Oh the silliness!
It was great to spend a Saturday night with my husband too. He works a lot of weekends.
Thank you beautiful Mary White for having us over for dinner! You’re one of a kind and so special to us. We love ya!
