It’s National Donut Day and donut shops across the country are offering delicious deals to honor the day. Krispy Kreme is giving away one free donut per customer in every state but Connecticut and is encouraging donations to the Salvation Army. At Top Pot you can win a dozen doughnuts a month for a year from any of their cafes by simply filling out an entry card. They’re also selling $10 raffle tickets to support Northwest Harvest and they have some great prizes like tickets to any Alaska Airlines destination.
The Seattle Mariners are celebrating their biggest comeback in team history. The M’s were ten runs behind the Padres in the fifth inning last night in San Diego. Then they scored a two-run double, a three-run homer, a two-run single and a flurry of RBI singles, all in two innings. The 14-run explosion gave the Mariners the lead, and they wound up beating the Padres 16-13. It was the Mariners’ biggest comeback ever, and the highest scoring game in Petco Park history.

It’s going to be hot in Seattle this weekend. Forecasters say it’ll hit 87-degrees Saturday and 90-degrees Sunday. Some parts of the Northwest are being issued heat alerts. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch this weekend for southwestern Washington and western Oregon, Including Portland. The excessive heat is expected to spread into the Rockies early next week.

The 2016 CMT Music Awards has just added more genre-combining performances. The show’s lineup will include Dierks Bentley and Elle King singing “Different for Girls,” which they recorded for Bentley’s new album Black. Meanwhile, Billy Ray Cyrus will team up with Cheap Trick for a collaboration that’s only being described so far as a “killer mashup.” Cam and Fifth Harmony will also take the stage along with The Oak Ridge Boys and Blake Shelton, and Keith Urban with Maren Morris and Brett Eldredge. The CMTs will be hosted by Erin Andrews & Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt and airs live on CMT on June 8.

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris have confirmed their breakup, but the duo is also giving a little insight on what happened. Or, more specifically, what didn’t happen when they split earlier this week after dating for just over a year. Rumors circulated that Harris felt intimidated by Swift’s success, or that the romance had just cooled. It’s all untrue, if you believe Harris who said “the only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect.” Swift promptly retweeted him. There was no drama or cheating — things just didn’t work out.
