Famous people bicker and fight all the time, but if this is a feud then it has to be the strangest one ever because it involves two country acts and “The Voice” coach Pharrell Williams.
Last year before The Band Perry parted ways with Big Machine, they had announced that they were working with Pharrell on new music. This would have been the rapper’s first foray into country music.
“We’re being really crazy about the different collaborations that we’re diving into,” Kimberly Perry told CMT at the time. “We got to hang out with Pharrell a couple weeks ago. He’s like a huge country music fan, and he also really loves what we do with harmony. One thing that we worked on with him was this song where all three of us sing different interwoven vocals on the verse and on the chorus.”
Then their album was never released, they changed record labels, and now the group plans to transition into pop music.
Jump ahead to this week and Little Big Town announced that they have a new 8-song EP coming out June 10 called Wanderlust. And guess who they had worked with.
Yep, Pharrell Williams.
“[Pharrell] loves southern harmonies — he’s from Virginia — and is a big fan of country music. He’s good at anything, and such a joy to be around,” Karen Fairchild said about Williams in a press release.
Just as news spread of Little Big Town’s involvement with Pharrell, Kimberly Perry took to Twitter and got people talking.
