The Puget Sound will be packed full of action today. Several law enforcement and emergency agencies, including Seattle police, King County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, FBI, Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Protections and King County Medic One, will be performing an active shooter and hostage drill in Elliott Bay. The drill will take place between Harbor Island and Discovery Park from 4 to 11 p.m., and those in the area can expect to see people rappelling out of low-level helicopters and several boats pulling up to the ferry.

Last night was the season 10 finale of The Voice and ‘Curly Sue’ actress and Team Christina member Alisan Porter was named the champion. Her victory gives her coach, Christina Aguilera, her first win on the singing show. Meanwhile, Team Blake’s Adam Wakefield was named runner-up, Team Pharrell’s Hannah Huston came in third and Team Adam’s Laith Al-Saadi landed in fourth.

Last night was also the season 22 finale of Dancing With The Stars and Nyle DiMarco and his pro partner Peta Murgatroyd won the mirror ball trophy. The deaf model was a fan favorite from the start of the competition & performed several times without music to give the audience an idea of what he went through during the season without being able to hear the music. UFC fighter Paige VanZant and GMA weather anchor Ginger Zee placed second and third, respectively.

And today’s HERO award goes to…an intern at a vet that saved a paralyzed dog at the last minute. A dog in Oregon became paralyzed last week, and the vet couldn’t figure out why.  So the owners were about to have him put down so he wouldn’t suffer anymore. But right before Ollie was supposed to be euthanized, an intern was prepping him.  And while she was petting him, she felt a LUMP behind one of his ears. It turned out the lump she found was a TICK, and THAT’S what was causing the paralysis. After they removed it, the dog was back to normal.
