Just months after their official split with Big Machine Label Group, The Band Perry have signed a new record deal at Interscope Records.
In a move that some suspected after some of the groups recent songs, the family trio is said to be “transitioning to pop.”
But they’ll do it ‘gradually’.
According to Billboard, Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry are still working on an upcoming third studio album, tentatively titled Heart + Beat, that will include some of the country songs that they recorded before they announced their departure from Big Machine Label Group and Republic Nashville in March of 2016.
The trio will still “keep a foot in the country format” by releasing select singles via Interscope’s sister label, UMG Nashville.
Heart + Beat was originally scheduled for release in November of 2015, but even though the release was delayed, the band was excited about the recording process saying, “With this project we’ve had more fun than we’ve ever had in the studio,” Kimberly told Taste Of Country.
“Everything is so colorful and enthusiastic and happy. We’re walking out of the studio with giant smiles on our faces.”
