Carrie Underwood’s ‘The Sound Of Music’ Soundtrack Getting Released Early

You won’t have to wait as long to hear Carrie Underwood‘s performance in The Sound Of Music. Sony Music will release the soundtrack to NBC‘s live broadcast of The Sound of Music on Dec. 3, just two days prior to the television special.

According to Country Weekly, The Sound of Music—Music from the NBC Television Event will feature performances from the six time Grammy winning singer as well as the entire cast, including Stephen Moyer from True Blood who will be playing the male lead Captain von Trapp.

Carrie Underwood will be playing Maria, while Broadway veterans and Tony award winners Audra McDonald, Laura Benanti, and Christian Borle round out the powerhouse cast.

The track listing includes beloved favorites from the movie such as “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” and “Climb Every Mountain.”

The three-hour live broadcast of The Sound of Music takes place Dec. 5 on NBC.
