Carrie Underwood will be shifting gears this week from Sunday Night Football, to Sunday night Emmy Awards. The six-time Grammy winner will be appearing in a special Emmy Awards segment this weekend.
The country superstar will be part of a salute to the 50th anniversary of television milestones from 1963, including coverage of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy as well as The Beatles‘ legendary performance on The Ed Sullivan Show just 80 days on after the president was killed.
According to Billboard, both events are often mentioned together as two of the most significant television moments in history. Underwood will also honor the music of the ’60s in her special performance.
The 65th Emmy Awards are this Sunday, September 22 at 5:00 p.m. PT on CBS.
