Country stars like Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, and Brad Paisley rock their cowboy hats proudly. Why doesn’t Luke Bryan sport the familiar country symbol upon his head? Simple answer, the singer says cowboy hats just aren’t for him. The chart topping singer recently appeared on the ‘TODAY’ Show, and when he wasn’t performing for the packed crowd, he was asked why he wears a baseball cap instead of a cowboy hat.
The country singer went on to say that he is a country boy, but not a cowboy, and he never really wore anything other than baseball caps.
Luke Bryan explained, “I grew up in south Georgia as a country boy. I never really was like a cowboy, so I always felt like a cowboy truly ought to rock a cowboy hat, and I’m just kind of a country boy/ex-baseball player, so I ought to wear a country boy/ex-baseball player hat.”
The reigning Entertainer of the Year even has a lucky baseball hat that you just might spot on stage. Bryan told the ‘TODAY‘ Show, he wears a hat he got from his friend Adam LaRoche, who plays first base for the Washington Nationals. With hits songs left and right, and music awards pouring in, that lucky hat is definitely working.
