With performances from Wynonna, Brad Paisley and Alan Jackson, Thursdays memorial for George Jones is sure to be something special.
In addition to the musical acts, Former First Lady Laura Bush and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee are alsoexpected to participate in the public memorial for late country legend at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville Thursday.
Bush and Huckabee are expected to share some words about the singer who died last week at the age of 81. CBS News’ Bob Schieffer, singer Barbara Mandrell and Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam are also on the speakers’ list.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am Eastern, 10:00 am Central. It’s open to the public and will be aired on local Nashville stations as well as CMT, GAC and FamilyNet. The Grand Ole Opry website will also carry the ceremony online right here.
