Although he may not have the household name recognition of his collaborators, Dallas Davidson is certainly no stranger to country music. He moved to Nashville nearly 10 years ago and has written a slew of hits you’ve likely heard on the radio, ranging from Trace Adkin’s “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” and Blake Shelton’s “All About Tonight” to Lady Antebellum’s “Just a Kiss” and Brad Paisley and Keith Urban’s “Start a Band.”

So it’s only fitting that Davidson will be awarded this year’s Academy of Country Music Award for Songwriter of the Year. Radio.com recently sat down with Randy Houser to ask the singer what it’s like to write with Davidson, who helped co-write his current single, “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight.”
