Big & Rich Say ‘That’s Why I Pray’ Might Be Their ‘Biggest Song Ever’

Big Kenny and John Rich are back in the studio and working on the first Big & Rich album in five years.

Today marks the release of their first single off the new album, and during a recent interview, John Rich told Jack Shell at CBS Detroit station WYCD that it could be “the biggest song we’ve ever recorded.”

The song is called “That’s Why I Pray,” and it delivers a powerful message.

“I want to make a difference even in the smallest way
I’m only one person, but I can feel it working
I believe in better days”

twip Big & Rich Say ‘That’s Why I Pray’ Might Be Their Biggest Song EverJohn spoke about the types of songs he and Kenny have recorded during their career as Big & Rich. “We’ve had the great party songs that you know about – ‘Comin’ To Your City’ and ‘Save a Horse.’ But then we’ve had the ‘8th of November,’ ‘Lost in This Moment With You.'”

And as a solo artist, Rich says, “I put out ‘Shuttin’ Detroit Down,'” a song about government bailouts. So as he explains, “you know we’ve had some pretty serious songs.

He went on to say, though, that “this song, ‘That’s Why I Pray,’ I think my gut tells me it may be the biggest song we’ve ever recorded.”

“That’s Why I Pray” is now available for download on iTunes. And, says Rich, “we will be playing that thing live when we come to town.”
