One of the leading causes of death among cell phones – you know, the one that ends with a splash and an “eww” – could soon be gone. Enter…the waterproof cell phone!
Three companies are launching a thin impermeable coating that will allow phones to still work after they’ve been dropped in the toilet, sink, or bathtub. They will debut later this week at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
For someone whose phone takes a swim every couple of months, this is a dream come true. Now, I don’t have to feel that bad about texting in the shower!
