Although ABC has hosted the CMA’s for the past five years, other networks are interested in gaining the rights to the telecast.
According to New York Magazine, ABC, CBS, and NBC are battling to air the CMA’s.
Adding to the past CMA show’s impressive ratings, seven million people tuned into Sunday’s “CMA Music Festival” on ABC, making it the night’s most watched program between 8 and 11 PM.
Stay tuned: CMA officials could announce a new television deal by the end of the month.
The 2011 CMA Awards will air live from Nashville on November 9 at 8:00 PM.
